    Beginning Band is designed for students going into 5th grade-8th grade with NO previous experience on a band instrument. The summer band program offers students an opportunity to start their learning of a band instrument with frequent instruction and small classes. Delivered in a series of 45-minute lessons spanning four weeks, students receive personalized instruction in a small-group setting.     Students are invited to begin participating in the Mounds View Public Schools band program the summer after fourth grade. The summer band program offers students an opportunity to start their learning of a band instrument with frequent instruction and small class sizes. Delivered in a series of 45-minute lessons spanning four weeks, students receive personalized instruction in a small-group setting. At the end of the program, students perform their first band concert. Participants can sign up for any section time or location that works best for them. There will also be an opportunity to start band in the fall of fifth grade for students who cannot participate in the summer program. Please note: Beginning Band enrollment will open Feb 21 at 9am. Sections will not be visible searchable until that time.     BEGINNING BAND 45-minute group lessons | Students entering grade 5 Beginning Summer Band is offered for four weeks. District band instructors will be at each sign-up night event to answer questions and assist in registration for summer band. INTRODUCTION TO MIDDLE SCHOOL BAND 45-minute full band rehearsal| Students entering grade 6 For students who are currently playing in fifth grade band. Introduction to middle school band is a full band rehearsal offered Mondays-Thursdays for four weeks at various locations. ADVANCED MIDDLE SCHOOL BAND 45-minute full band rehearsal | Students entering grades 7-9 For students in grades 6-8 who are currently playing in band.
