    The sun is your best friend if you know how to use it! This class teaches how to cook with just the sun. Solar cooking bypasses traditional cooking means. No electricity, gas, charcoal, or wood needed for solar cooking. Students will learn how to cook meals, dry food for preservation, and purify water all with the sun. In the end, students will build their own mini sun oven and take home a micro green plant.. Presented by GoSolar! Kidz. We’ll make tons of sparkly projects including; bracelets, glittery snow globes, and a jewelry box. We will even glitter-fy our fingernails!     Track & Field - Grades 6-9

    Track & Field camps provide participants with practice in several areas including: sprinting, throwing (javelin and shot put), relay running, long jumping and distance running. Emphasis is on technique and proper form. All players will be timed/tested on the first and last day.     Participants will experience a no-contact introductory experience to the game of Lacrosse. Athletes will learn basic lacrosse fundamentals including stick handling, cradling, passing, and shooting, all in a fun, non-checking environment. Delivered in a series of 45-minute lessons spanning four weeks, students receive personalized instruction in a small-group setting. At the end of the program, students perform their first band concert. Registration for Valleyfair Performance Field trip will occur at a different date. Rental: District instrument rental is available based on student need as identified by their Band Director. Students who play French Horn, Baritone or Tuba are encouraged to rent 2 instruments from school (one stays at home, one stays at school).
