    BEGINNING BAND 45-minute group lessons | Students entering grade 5 Beginning Summer Band is offered for four weeks. District band instructors will be at each sign-up night event to answer questions and assist in registration for summer band. INTRODUCTION TO MIDDLE SCHOOL BAND 45-minute full band rehearsal| Students entering grade 6 For students who are currently playing in fifth grade band. Introduction to middle school band is a full band rehearsal offered Mondays-Thursdays for four weeks at various locations. ADVANCED MIDDLE SCHOOL BAND 45-minute full band rehearsal | Students entering grades 7-9 For students in grades 6-8 who are currently playing in band. Advanced middle school band is a full band rehearsal offered Mondays-Thursdays for four weeks from at various locations. Participants can sign up for any section time or location that works best for them. Youth Scholarship/Financial Aid: Youth who are residing within the Mounds View Public Schools boundaries and currently qualify for educational benefits/free/reduced lunch may be eligible for partial scholarships to qualifying Enrichment & Activites programs. Financial support is provided by the Ralph Reeder Food Shelf, District Community Education Scholarship fund and other community donors. Qualifying Enrichment and Activities will have a Financial Support/Educational Benefits fee rate that is 50% of the full fee for the program.   • Summer Beginning Band 5th Grade

    Students are invited to begin participating in the Mounds View Public Schools band program the summer after fourth grade. The summer band program offers students an opportunity to start their learning of a band instrument with frequent instruction and small class sizes. Delivered in a series of 45-minute lessons spanning four weeks, students receive personalized instruction in a small-group setting. At the end of the program, students perform their first band concert. Participants can sign up for any section time or location that works best for them. There will also be an opportunity to start band in the fall of fifth grade for students who cannot participate in the summer program. Please note: Beginning Band enrollment will open Feb 21 at 9am. Sections will not be visible searchable until that time.     K-6 Summer Day Camps at Turtle Lake Join us for eight weeks of summer day camps in 2024 including both full-day and half-day options for students entering grades K-6. With new instructors, new topics and one centralized camp site, students will be able to try new things, meet new people and grow. Daily schedule: Drop-off 8 - 9 a.m. Morning camp 9 a.m. - noon Lunch Bunch noon - 1 p.m. (extra $10 per week) Afternoon camp 1 - 4 p.m. Pick-up 4 - 5 p.m. CAMP REGISTRATION Registration opens March 25 at 9 a.m. Register at mvpschools.org/RegisterCommunityEd MORNING AND AFTERNOON CARE Reduce some summer stress with our extended morning drop-off hour and afternoon pick-up hour included in your summer camp registration! Campers can be dropped off as early as 8 a.m. and picked up as late as 5 p.m. giving families a little more flexibility in their day. LUNCH BUNCH Create a full day of fun with the Lunch Bunch program. For families looking for full-day options, the Lunch Bunch program is a perfect way to connect morning and afternoon camps. Lunch Bunch provides a supervised lunch hour and playground time. Students are required to bring their own lunch. Registration is in addition to camp registration, and the cost is $10 per week. Lunch Bunch is required for all participants enrolled in both morning and afternoon sessions. FIELD TRIP FRIDAYS Experience high-quality supervision and a new field trip destination every Friday with our Field Trip Fridays! Field trips are $65 per field trip and require students to bring a bag lunch. Drop-off is at Turtle Lake Elementary School from 8 - 9 a.m. with pick-up from 4:30 - 5 p.m. CHECK-IN AND EMERGENCY CONTACT INFORMATION We look forward to making sure participants have a great time this summer and are safe while in our care. We ask that you help us by following the guidelines below: • K-6 summer day camp participants enrolled in day camps at Turtle Lake will be checked in and out of the camp by a parent/guardian or caregiver unless otherwise noted. Be prepared to show a photo ID. • Please make sure that your emergency contact information is current and any accommodation/medical needs are included in your child’s registration. • Please complete your camper information form when it is emailed to you in April.
