Starting SoonTurtle Lake 4th & 5th Grade ChoirsArtsDo you love to sing? Students entering 4th and 5th grade have the opportunity to join choir with Ms. Crockett. Choir is a before school activity held once a week. Fourth grade choir meets on Thursdays from 8:05-9:05. Fifth grade choir meets on Tuesdays from 8:05-9:05. Students do not need to audition for choir. The Turtle Lake choirs perform a winter concert in January and a spring concert in April , as well as a few other performances throughout the year. Concert dates: Winter Concert - January 30, 7pm at Chippewa Middle School Spring concert - April 27 7pm at Chippewa Middle School Reduced Fees & Financial Assistance: Youth who are residing within the Mounds View Public Schools boundaries and currently qualify for educational benefits and/or free/reduced lunch may be eligible for reduced fees and partial scholarships to qualifying Enrichment & Activities programs. Come join Mirabel, Isabella, Antonio and the rest of the Madrigals as we create magical projects inspired by the hit Disney movie Encanto. We'll use glitter, clay, paint and more as we create clay butterflies, magical bedroom doors, Colombian rainforest creatures, and so much more. This is your chance to be part of the Family Madrigal! Nailed It! Art ChallengeArtsCalling all creative kids! This is the perfect class to hone both your artistic side and your puzzle-solving skills. Just like on the popular TV show Nailed It!, we’ll show you a final product and give you all the goods needed to recreate it. The rest is up to you! Your challenges will include creating a unicorn cake sculpture that looks good enough to eat, painting a fox at sunset, a llama with a flower crown, and so much more. We can’t wait to see if you can nail it! This is Nailed It!, Kidcreate-style, so instead of baking, we’ll be sculpting, painting, collaging, and more! Glow-in-the-Dark Halloween CanvasArtsThis is your child’s chance to paint on a real canvas board. During this guided painting lesson, your child will create a Halloween scene featuring a spooky, swirly, starry night sky that glows in the dark! The children are welcome to wear their Halloween costumes to class! Kings and Queens of the Castle Drawing ClassArtsTravel back to the middle ages as participants learn to draw princesses, knights, castles and even dragons. Students learn how to illustrate period-specific characters and scenes, but they will also strengthen their drawing and coloring skills. From knights to maidens, our students will learn how to compose a well-drawn figure.
