Basic Dog ObedienceAdult Activities & EnrichmentTaught by local instructor Andrea Dubay of the Monticello Dog Academy, this class is for dogs 5 months and older. Here we will work on basic obedience commands such as heel on a loose leash, sit, stay, come, stand and down. Dogs will be introduced to fun obstacles and taught proper behavior in a public setting. The Council supports and promotes lifelong learning opportunities that are responsive to community needs and enhance the quality of life for people of all ages, abilities and cultures. Our council consists of up to 20 members representing our city partners, program area experts, and community members. The Community Education Council provides feedback and support to the following areas: Programs, classes, policies, services, and facilities Promotes and fosters new programs and coordinates these with existing community programs to avoid unnecessary duplication. Community Provides input anticipating the needs and wants of the community as they relate to community education. Communication Serves as liaison between the community and the school district in evaluating community education needs. Philosophy Advocates for continued quality in community education. What are the qualifications? After lunch, a local Winona County Historical Society guide will give us a look at Winona from all angles, where we'll see multiple historical things the city has to offer. Our guide will take us to the city’s hot spots, get a view of the river valley from atop the bluffs, tour museums and much more. This band is a celebration of the music that changed the world from Sun Records and the Grand Ole Opry. Featuring songs from Cash, Haggard, Lewis, Orbison, Elvis and many others, Memphis and the Meantimes have been thrilling audiences for years by providing them with an 8-piece powerful presentation. Featuring the talents of Dan Neale, Lisi Wright, Ben Kaplan, Peter Guertin, John Wright and vocals by Cate Fierro, Shalo Lee, Mick Sterling and from time to time very special guest vocalists, MEMPHIS AND THE MEANTIMES is a joyful noise celebrating the best of American popular music. Participants will also have the opportunity to visit the Masonic Museum and Library on the second floor prior to the show.
