No behind-the-wheel driving and no tests are included in this course. You will receive a certificate of completion to give to your insurance company. According to Minnesota state law, people age 55 and older who complete a state approved defensive driving course are eligible to receive a 10 percent, three-year discount on auto insurance. WaitlistAdventures in Learning & Bus (optional) 2019-2020Preschool3½ to 5 years old by Sept 1 Adventures in Learning is a six and one half hour preschool class where children inquire, invent and explore. Activities include art, sensory, blocks, music, imaginative play, writing and large muscle play. Hot lunch is served. Children must be toilet trained. Limited childcare is available before or after preschool. Bus transportation (optional) at $225/year. You will receive a letter in April to sign up and pay for bus transportation. Children attending Early Childhood Center for preschool who select bus transportation must reside in or attend daycare in the Bel Air, Pinewood, Sunnyside, or Valentine Hills Schools attendance area. Children attending Snail Lake Center for preschool who select bus transportation must reside in or attend daycare in the Island Lake or Turtle Lake Schools attendance area. PopularBoys BasketballSportsBoys Basketball. All Boys in grades 6-8 are encouraged to participate. No experience necessary!! The focus of this activity is on skill building, teamwork and sportsmanship. Each participant will receive a t-shirt. Practice is 2:30 - 3:25pm (Tuesday and Thursday). There is no practice on Friday. Most games will be completed by 5:30. Activities will not meet on non-school days. Activity buses are available after practice for eligible students. Transportation is provided to and from all games. Come to play with activities designed just for two's. Parents separate from the children for parent education to learn about temperament traits, setting limits, toilet learning and other toddler parenting topics. Sibling childcare is available for classes that meet during the day. *Sibling care is not available during evening classes. Flag FootballSportsFlag football is coed and all students in grades 6-8 are encouraged to participate. The game of flag football is a fast-paced, non-contact game played between teams of seven players. Each player on the offense and defense wears a set of flags. "Tackles" are made by pulling the flag out of the belt. All physical contact is strictly monitored for the safety of the players. Students meet after school from 2:30pm - 3:25pm at the football field. Each participant receives a t-shirt. Activity buses are available at 3:30pm for eligible . PopularFloor HockeySportsAll students grades 6 - 8 are encouraged to play Floor Hockey. No experience is needed. Emphasis is placed on skill development, participation, team work and good sportsmanship. Students will receive equal playing time during practices and competitions.
