  • Bowling - Irondale Team

    What has 10 pins and you throw a ball? If you guessed bowling, you’re correct! Irondale High School has a Bowling team, Yes, a Bowling team. Team is coed and grades 7 – 12 are welcome to join the team. Practices begin in August 12th. We meet at the Mermaid on Mondays at 3:30pm ( Exception, the Tuesday after Labor Day) Competitions are held on Fridays beginning in September at area Bowling centers, the matches start at 3:45pm. The Irondale Bowling team competes in the Minnesota High School Bowling League . The season wraps up in mid –November, unless a State tournament berth is won, State is held in early December.   • Bowling - Mounds View Team

    Do Mustangs bowl? Yes? Mounds View High School has a bowling team! Both young men and women in grades 7 thru 12 are eligible to join the team. Practice for the 2019 season is on Mondays from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. beginning August 12th at Flaherty's Arden Bowl. Matches against other schools are on Fridays at 3:30 p.m. beginning after school starts at several area bowling centers. The season concludes In mid November unless a state tournament berth is earned. The state tournament is held in December.  Participants must provide their own transportation to and from all practices and matches.   • Clay Target League - Irondale

    Welcome new and returning athletes to the IHS Clay Target Team registration process.  Clay Target shooting is one of the fastest growing high school sports in Minnesota. We are looking forward to an exciting 2019 fall season. This co-ed program is offered under the administration of the MN High School Clay Target League. The Fall Irondale Clay Target Team will include both Trap and Skeet. Each game requires 50 rounds of shooting, please consider the time commitment, cost and the athletes ability to shoot 100 rounds each competition day when deciding if you should shoot both trap and skeet. If you are new or unfamiliar with clay target sports, I would highly recommend that the athlete sign up for just trap their first year to gauge interest and ability to shoot larger volume games. Trap or Skeet is approximately a 2 hour commitment on competition days while Trap and Skeet would be a 4 hour commitment on our competition days.Please follow these 2 steps to complete your registration for IHS Clay Target Club:***To participate in the Clay Target League you must meet the following prerequisites:*** All athletes must have a MN DNR Hunter Safety certificate to participate - Safety is always First! See the DNR’s website for more information (www.mndnr.gov). (deadline to provide proof of certificate is September 10th) All athletes must be enrolled at IHS in grades 9-12. Register on the Mounds View Community Education (MVCE) website by noon on September 6th, 2019. MVCE will be collecting the range fees (clay target and puller tips) for the 6 week season and the MN Clay Target League fees. Total fees are $148 if you only plan to participate in Trap. An additional $148 will be required if you add Skeet. Range fees 6 weeks, 2 rounds a week, $8 per round = $96 Range Tip $1 per round, 6 weeks, 2 rounds a week = $12 $35 Minnesota Clay Target Registration fee $5 Mounds View Community Education fee After registering with MVCE, you will be sent an email with a link to register with the Minnesota Clay Target League. You will have until noon on September 6th, 2019 to complete your registration. The Mounds View team is certified by the MN State High School Clay Target League. We are looking forward to an exciting fall session. This co-ed program is offered under the administration of the MN High School Clay Target League.Please note: The MV Clay Target Club uses the MN Hunter Safety certificate or the MN Clay Target SAFE Certification for registration. All athletes must have a MN Hunter Safety certificate or SAFE Certificate to participate - Safety is always first! Returning students will automatically be authorized (please email the team coach, if any problems)2) Once the coach has given you access, registration instructions will be provided by email. Everyone who was previously on the email list will automatically receive registration instructions by August 30, 2019. If you have any problems, please send a note to myclaytargetclub@gmail.com.3) After you receive the registration instructions, register through Mounds View Community Education(MVCE) by September 10, 2019. The $40.00 registration fee will be collected by MVCE. 4.   • Strategy Game Club - High School

    Take advantage of the 1.5 hours of game time. With a longer time period, players can tackle more complex game formats and simulations. These games cover a wide selection of strategy games and simulations that involve 2 to 7 players. Many familiar games will be available such as Risk, Settlers of Catan, and Ticket to Ride but you will quickly find many others that will become your favorites such as 7 Wonders, Acquire, Brass, Age of Industry, Dominion, Feudal, Pandemic, Imperial, Quartermaster General, Rise of Empires, Civilization, History of the World, Power Grid, Cosmic Encounter, Citadels, or Memoir 44’ to name just a few. Apply your knowledge of Geography, Economics, Probability, Strategy, and Tactics to handle the challenges presented by the games and your opponents! Club T-Shirts Included in the fee.
