Chippewa Maker and Coder ClubMiddle SchoolJoin us for open lab time after school at Chippewa. Participants can learn 3D printing, laser cutting, vinyl cutting, Scratch, embroidery, Python and more. The game of flag football is a fast-paced, non-contact game played between teams of seven players. Each player on the offense and defense wears a set of flags. "Tackles" are made by pulling the flag out of the belt. All physical contact is strictly monitored for the safety of the players. Practices are Tuesday & Thursday from 2:30-3:40pm; Games are 3:00-5:00pm. Activities will not meet on non-school days. Acitvity buses are avaialble after practice for eligible students. PopularFloor HockeySportsAll students grades 6 - 8 are encouraged to play Floor Hockey. No experience is needed. Emphasis is placed on skill development, participation, teamwork and good sportsmanship. Students will receive equal playing time during practices and competitions. Practice is 2:30-3:40pm (Monday & Wednesday); games are 3:00-5:00pm. Activities will not meet on non-school days. Activity buses are available after practice for eligible students. Starting SoonMiddle School ClayVisual & Performing ArtsExperience the magic of clay with one of Northern Clay Center’s teaching artists. These hand-building workshops will introduce participants to the wonders of clay through creating and decorating their own unique project. Dress for mess! During a clay session, participants will make and decorate their own unique ceramic objects and learn ceramic skills along the way. NCC takes care of the firing and projects return to the participants. Presented by Northern Clay Center. Reduced Fees & Financial Assistance: Youth who are residing within the Mounds View Public Schools boundaries and currently qualify for educational benefits and/or free/reduced lunch may be eligible for reduced fees and partial scholarships to qualifying Enrichment & Activities programs. Financial support is provided by the Ralph Reeder Food Shelf, District Community Education Scholarship fund and other community donors. Qualifying Enrichment and Activities will have a Financial Support/Educational Benefits fee rate that is 50% of the full fee for the program. Table Tennis - ChippewaSportsParticipants will learn the correct technique for serving and will practice basic table tennis strokes including forehand drive, backhand drive, forehand push and backhand push. Fun in-house competitions will challenge students to put their new skills to the test individually and in pairs. Open to all students 6 - 8th grade. No experience is needed.
